Hi everyone. Below is a message from one of explorer members Tom McAdam. Tom has been a very large part of a cancer fund raising event, Relay for Life at Harrison High School. The event will be held at Harrison High School on June 9th from 7pm-7am. Harrison Ems has put a team together to participate. This will be a fun overnight event and is for a wonderful cause. Relay for Life Harrison has raised over a quarter million dollars of the last 4 years for the American Cancer Society. Below is a link for donations.

“Hi Everyone,
I am writing this message in relation to Relay For Life of Harrison. I understand that many employees do not live in Harrison, but supporting this cause will go beyond Harrison. Unfortunately, cancer is a term that is used everyday, as everybody is affected in some way.
The American Cancer Society’s (ACS) mission is to free the world of cancer. Relay For Life is an overnight event that occurs throughout the nation to fundraise, raise awareness, and represent how cancer does not sleep. Our fourth annual Harrison Relay For Life will take place on Saturday, June 9th, through Sunday, June 10th from 7pm to 7am. Through Relay For Life, we honor survivors, people who have passed, and caregivers. In addition, we do our part to support cancer research, share expert information, raise awareness, and fundraise. I relay for my grandfather, as he is thankfully in remission. In just four years, our Event Leadership Team has raised over $400,000 with the help of the community.
A team was created on the event’s website named "Harrison EMS”. I will provide a link to the team, where you can join, or donate. Currently, the goal is $1000. If every employee can donate $10, we would be at half of our goal! The explorers will be going out into the community, to raise awareness for RFL, and handing out the “File of Life”.
